Award-winning global pop star G.E.M., announced today the release of her first single and music video from her second E.P. titled “Fearless.” This E.P. is the second chapter of G.E.M.’s “Fairytale Trilogy,” where each of the three E.P.’s will feature three new songs written by G.E.M. and produced by her long-time music producer and collaborator Lupo Groinig. The E.P. is released by her record label Hummingbird Music Ltd, headed by manager Tan Chang, and is immediately available worldwide on all music platforms.

The first song from the “Fearless” E.P. is called “Woke” and the music video will release on G.E.M.’s YouTube Channel on Friday, November 9.

The music video for “Woke” was shot in Taiwan by Birdy, which is the same Taiwanese director who shot G.E.M.’s “Tik Tok” music video from the “My Fairytale” E.P.  G.E.M. initiated the music video concept and discussed with Birdy until completion. It is also the very first time in 10 years that G.E.M. takes part in the role of producer, director and also the actress in a music video. She and Birdy directed together, and produced this music video in just 10 days. The two characters in the music video, ‘the maniac G.E.M.’ in the white room and the ‘numb G.E.M.’ in the black room, make up the full image of herself and only love can break through all the walls and bring them together.

Working on the music video, G.E.M. says, “The maniac me in the music video represents that sometimes love can make one go crazy unconsciously and feel being misunderstood by the whole world, at that moment you will love unconditionally and wholeheartedly, and be willing to risk being hurt."

In August, G.E.M. also released the first E.P. “My Fairytale” from the highly-anticipated “Fairytale Trilogy” E.P. Collection with the lead single and music video “Tik Tok” which currently has over 37 million views.

Outside of the E.P., 2018 is a great year for G.E.M who has completed more than 25 shows on her “Queen of Hearts” tour and also recently joined the second season of “The Rap of China.” G.E.M. has an infectious charm and charisma that comes across in her role as a judge on the second season of the hit reality competition rap show.

Last week, G.E.M. attended the prestigious Breakthrough Prize awards known in Hollywood as the ‘Oscars for Science’ where she performed her hit song “Light Years Away” from the popular science fiction movie “Passengers” and presented the coveted Junior Challenge Award to a young luminary. G.E.M. participated in the event as she is now an investor working with technology companies on a mission to help make the world a better place.

Last month, G.E.M. attended the inaugural Stan Lee’s Shanghai Comic Universe convention on October 1 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition to debut a new partnership with Stan Lee and his company, Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment, a multimedia entertainment company creating original Stan Lee content. G.E.M. appeared on a panel with Stan Lee’s POW! Entertainment CEO Shane Duffy and CMO Bob Sabouni to announce a new Chinese female superhero created by Stan Lee, inspired by G.E.M.

The superstar who has had five number one albums in China and reaches more than 35 million followers on social media, plans to release the concluding final E.P. of her music trilogy later this year. Each E.P. tells a personal and emotional story of G.E.M.’s journey, written by her. After ten years from her debut, G.E.M. has accumulated more than 100 awards and concert tours globally.
