Formed by the two brothers Guy Lawrence and Howard Lawrence from Reigate, Surrey, the British electronic music duo Disclosure is deeply inspired and has revived the 90s house in today's music scene. Since starting out as Disclosure eight years ago in 2010, their music tastes and influences have become even more wide-ranging and eclectic. The core of Disclosure’s sound mixes UK garage, dubstep, funk and pop music variant that ruled the stage.
Their extraordinary debut album “Settle” (2013) consolidated their place at the forefront of a new wave of electronic music. It topped the charts, won numerous accolades and ushered in a new age that opened up dance music for the next generation of young music fans while refreshing and rejuvenating the scene for the rest. This album led them to the nomination for Best Dance / Electronic album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The lead single “Latch” featuring the vocals from four-time Grammy winner Sam Smith debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 peaked at #7.
With “Caracal”, their second album and the follow-up to “Settle”, they assert themselves as platinum-grade songwriters. “Caracal”, their 2016 Grammy-nominated second album is a muscular and nuanced record, with a depth to it that will pin it to the canon of dance music history. The fraternal house duo has continued to push sonic frontiers and collaborated with the pop world’s biggest stars like The Weekend, Miguel, Lorde, and more.
Last year, Disclosure announced they would be taking a “time out” from music. In 2018, the duo has revealed that they’re working on their third album. Disclosure are still doing what they do best - taking house and giving it a massive injection of musicality - but there’s a renewed depth and skill to this latest work.
