Often cited as one of the most influential K-Pop phenomenon around the globe, korean boy band Bigbang was definitely the pioneer in shaping the international K-pop scene, making headlines wherever they go. This time Billboard Radio China managed to sit down with the youngest member Seungri between breaks and talked about his new movie, edm collab with Alan Walker, K-Pop internationalization and his 2018 plans.

 

Seungri recently took a leading role in the new Chinese movie “Love Only”, marking his first debut in a Chinese film and showcasing his incredible multilingual skills. Seungri has always been one of the most active members in Bigbang, with his appearance spanning across acting, singing, DJ-ing and business.

 

Seungri also released his new single as the movie’s OST, a chinese cover of “Faded” by Alan Walker. The two has also appeared together as international EDM ambassadors in the press conference of Liquid State, a new joint label between Tencent Music and Sony Music aiming to promote EDM in China. Bigbang has been in the industry for over 10 years and witnessed the changing dynamics around global music scenes. When talking about the K-Pop globalization, Seungri believed that “Asian music is definitely going global, and I really want to be a part to witness this.”

 

Speaking of 2018 plans, Seungri is all geared up to make some noise with his new upcoming solo album. “People’s music taste changes very fast: Hiphop, EDM… In the end the key is a good mix. This new solo album will be very diverse and full of energy for my fans.” said Seungri. Worldwide DJ R3hab has also posted his photo with Seungri on instagram, spreading hints for a new collaboration to come.
